Dilansir Antara.Com, berdasarkan penelusuran BPOM, kosmetik berbahaya mayoritas memberi efek memutihkan kulit. Sayangnya, bahan yang dipakai sangat berbahaya, yaitu merkuri/raksa, hidrokinon dan asam retinoat.

"Sebagai tindak lanjut terhadap seluruh temuan kosmetika mengandung bahan berbahaya atau dilarang tersebut, dilakukan penarikan produk dari peredaran dan dimusnahkan," kata Kepala BPOM Lucky S. Slamet.

Lucky menyebut beberapa gangguan kesehatan yang muncul akibat menggunakan produk-produk tersebut, seperti iritasi kulit, pengikisan kulit dan kerusakan ginjal.

Banyak Dijual di Internet dan Tidak Murah

Sekali lagi, BPOM memperingatkan masyarakat, terutama para wanita untuk tidak menggunakan kosmetik tersebut. Menurut BPOM, kosmetik berbahaya banyak dijual melalui net, klinik kecantikan, juga salon-salon. Jangan tertipu dengan harga, karena produk berbahaya ini justru memiliki harga yang mahal untuk meyakinkan pembeli.

Tapi... Pertanyaan mengenai kehalalan Carmine Red muncul lagi setelah aku beli salah satu produk kosmetik yang telah halal licensed dari MUI, tapi mengandung zat pewarna serangga tsb.

Nah, jadinya pewarna serangga itu halal or haram??

Ternyata, hukum penggunaan pewarna serangga memang ada 2 pendapat, menghalalkan & mengharamkan.

Pandangan Ulama tentang Zat Pewarna Serangga

YANG MENGAHRAMKAN:

Di kalangan ahli fikih, ada yang membolehkan dan mengharamkan penggunaan serangga sebagai bahan pewarna termasuk untuk kosmetik. Mazhab Syafi’i termasuk yang mengharamkan pemanfaatan serangga untuk bahan konsumsi.

Zat pewarna yang diambil dan dibuat dari yang haram, maka hukumnya haram pula. Berarti produk pangan, obat-obatan, dan kosmetik yang menggunakan zat pewarna dari Cochineal haram dikonsumsi umat.

Abu Hanifah memiliki pandangan yang sama dengan Imam Syafi’i berkenaan dengan serangga. Menurut mereka, serangga hukumnya haram karena termasuk khabaits, yaitu hewan yang menjijikkan. Dalilnya, “… Dan Ia (Rasulullah) mengharamkan yang khabait satau menjijikkan.’’ (QS al-Araf: 157)

YANG MENGHALALKAN:

Pendapat imam mazhab lain dalam kitab fikih menyatakan, serangga itu disebut hasyarat. Binatang dibagi menjadi dua kategori, yaitu ada yang darahnya mengalir ( Laha damun sailun), dan yang tidak mengalir (Laisa laha damun sailun). Menurutnya, serangga yang darahnya mengalir, maka bangkainya adalah najis. Sedangkan yang darahnya tidak mengalir, bangkainya dinyatakan suci. Imam Malik, Ibn Layla, dan Auza’i memiliki pendapat yang sama bahwa serangga itu halal selama tidak membahayakan.

Cochineal termasuk jenis serangga yang aman dan tidak membahayakan. Oleh karenanya, zat pewarna yang dihasilkan Cochineal hukumnya halal sehingga dapat dipergunakan untuk pewarna produk konsumsi. Dan cochineal termasuk serangga yang darahnya tidak mengalir. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan serangga Cochineal tersebut jelas tidak ada masalah.

PANDANGAN MUI

Komisi Fatwa Majlis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) pada sidang 4 Mei 2011 yang lalu telah membahas rancangan ketetapan hukum zat pewarna untuk produk pangan, obat-obatan dan kosmetik yang terbuat dari serangga, yaitu Cochineal yang banyak terdapat di kawasan Amerika Selatan dan Meksiko.

Hewan ini menghasilkan Asam Carminic sampai 17-24% dari bobot tubuhnya yang dapat diekstraksi dan dibuat pewarna carmine untuk produk konsumsi.

Komisi Fatwa MUI sepakat menetapkan fatwa halal untuk bahan produk pewarna makanan minuman dari serangga Cochineal.

Beberapa pertimbangan yang menjadi landasan Komisi Fatwa MUI, di antaranya:

1. Serangga Cochineal yang dimaksud di sini adalah serangga yang hidup di atas kaktus yang makan pada kelembapan dan nutrisi tanaman.
2. Serangga jenis ini mengandung nilai manfaat dan kebaikan bagi manusia. Tidak berbahaya dalam mengonsumsinya, dan tidak diketahui adanya racun yang membahayakan dari Cochineal.
3. Darah dari Cochineal masuk dalam kategori tidak mengalir.
